Vouliagmeni cave is located at Lake Vouliagmeni facility, only 30 minutes away from the center of Athens and close to the sea shore. It has huge dimensions with passages as wide as 150 m, a maximum penetration of more than 3 km and an average depth of 80 m. The water inside the cave has a pleasant temperature, around 21 to 24°C. This is the result of a supply of warm sea water coming from much deeper sections which are still unexplored. The visibility is awesome but percolation and a halocline can occur in some spots.
